I Took Photos with a Cherry Blossom Tree and it was Magical

It’s cherry blossom season here in the Washington, DC area and people are Rushing to see them.

It’s an annual thing for most people who live around here, and to people from other states, to visit the Tidal Basin in DC to witness and take photos of the spectacular display of sakuras. Not only do people go crazy about them, the crowd is even crazy-er! Because you pretty much only get one week to see them in their full glory, it gets extremely packed and crowded there. Parking in DC is already hard enough without these trees, imagine the horror of trying to park there now.

Thrift Store Diaries - Snake Skin Prada Mules

Whew! It’s been a while since I feature my thrift store finds on here but that’s because I haven’t really been going shopping!

All our dollars go to Adeline so Jorge and I don’t really buy stuff for ourselves. But when we do have some extra, I make sure to stop by the Salvation Army store near our apartment. A couple weeks ago, I walked home from Adeline’s doctor’s appointment and decided to stop by the thrift store. And guess what I found! I’m sure you already know because of the title of this post, but I got myself Prada shoes!!! I asked my friend, my sister, and Jorge to double check whether they were real and we’ve concluded that they (probably) are real and that just made me really happy!

PS: SNEAKY SNEAKY GIVEAWAY! 👀

How I Styled my Fake Dr. Martens

I FEEL LIKE DR. MARTENS IS ONE OF THOSE STYLES THAT’S TIMELESS JUST LIKE CONVERSE’S CHUCK TAYLORS, AND I FEEL LIKE EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST ONE PAIR OF THEM IN THEIR LIFETIME.

Since I cannot afford a pair right now, I used up my JustFab credits and got myself a white pair of combat boots that I think have the same look as the Dr. Martens.

Where To Find Affordable Teddy Jackets

I’m sure you’ve seen these teddy jackets left and right and we’re not hating it! I love this trend!

I don’t want this trend to ever go away because it truly is very cozy and cute! I only have one right now, but I do plan on purchasing maybe two more in different colors. The one I have I got from Uniqlo and I honestly wish I got a larger size because I love an oversized fit. Anywho, I’m here to share with you a few stores where you can find these teddy jackets for an affordable price!

Thrift Store Diaries - Falling for Corduroy

When I saw Emily V post about corduroy on her Instagram, I knew I had to get something corduroy for myself. I think that it’s such a staple and timeless piece of fabric in anyone’s wardrobe.

A few weeks ago, my husband took me to Unique for a quick thrift shopping spree and I was able to snag this awesome jacket from Aeropostale for less than $10! It’s in a beautiful beige tan color and it’s lined with faux fur which I think is so perfect for layering this cold season!

Thrift Store Diaries - Super Oversized Sweater

I think right now, I just have to accept the fact that I AM THICK.

Even Jorge tells me this. He likes it I guess, but I don’t! As a blogger, I literally have no new clothes to wear because all my other clothes just look ugly on me! And because we are new parents, shopping just isn’t in the cards for us, so whenever I do want to buy clothes, I make sure we hit the thrift shops because I know this postpartum weight is temporary.

Stripes and Sunflowers

I was so happy when summer finally came because that meant a trip to the sunflower field was in order!

Jorge and I were finally able to go visit, and it was simply beautiful! It was my first time seeing a field of sunflowers, and I wasn't disappointed at all! It was hot that day, so I knew I had to wear something summer appropriate. I wore my new two-piece set from #Shein, and I'm so glad I did even though I had some worries at first! I'll elaborate on that in a bit.😂 For now, enjoy some nice photos.
