How To Add Color To Your Outfits

Black has always been very popular in the world of fashion. An all-black outfit is classic, chic, and slimming. A uniform of black clothing is easy to wear, but it can be boring.

Color can add something new to your style, and make you feel brighter and more confident.! If you’re not used to wearing color and you find it a bit challenging to incorporate to your style, don’t worry, I got you! Here are some easy ways you can start adding more color to your style.

Add Accessories

If you’re new to the color world, ease yourself in with your accessories. Add a pop of color to a monochrome outfit with a brightly colored handbag, shoes, or chunky necklace. If you’re not sure about wearing more color, this is a simple way to get more used to styling it and get used to how you look in it. Color can be overwhelming when it’s worn close to your face, but an accessory like a bag or shoes will add interest without the risk of washing your skin out.

Wear Pattern

A good easy way to wear color is to choose clothes made from patterned fabric. A striking pattern can lift an outfit that uses very simple shapes. Braving pattern makes you seem confident, approachable, and stylish. Try a striped dress, snakeskin print leggings, a polka dot shirt, or some other pattern in a soft color palette.

Try Different Colors

Not all colors will suit everyone. If you’ve found it hard to wear color in the past, it could be that you’ve been wearing the wrong colors.! To find the right colors for you, look at the undertones in your skin, and wear colors that will flatter that.

Remember that wearing color doesn’t have to mean that you have to wear neon colors. Pastel tones can look just as eye-catching, as can darker shades, such as navy or plum. Experiment with a few different shades of color to work out what suits you and what you feel confident wearing.

Start Slowly

If you aren’t used to seeing yourself in color, you might not like the way you look at first when you start wearing it. You might need to give yourself a bit of time to get used to the way that color looks on you. To do this, start slowly with how you add touches of color. Instead of trying to wear a whole outfit of bright color straight away, add something small.

Take an outfit that you know you feel confident in and change one item for something colorful. For example, pair a black suit with a red shoe. Change a white t-shirt for a blue one. Gradually, you can add more items in color, as you get more comfortable and figure out what suits you.

Wearing color can make you look confident, stylish, and fun.

Black or white is always chic, but color is always in style as well. Whether you decide to go all the way with a whole outfit of bright patterns, or just find you enjoy the look of a pop of color in your monochrome outfits, have fun experimenting with your style.  And what better time to start incorporating color into your wardrobe than now — spring and summer is in full bloom!
