My Minimal Clean Makeup Routine

Since switching to using only clean or non-toxic beauty products, my makeup routine has been cut to the bare minimum! Like, I can literally do my makeup in 10 minutes.

I think that’s the one thing I love about being more conscious about makeup. The things or steps you thought you couldn’t live without are suddenly just out of the picture, and it feels good! I am not going to lie though. Sometimes, I do miss playing and getting creative with my makeup looks! But this minimal makeup routine has been really good to me, and a lot of you think so too! Today I will be sharing with you the products I have been using to achieve a full face of makeup.

A quick disclaimer: there will be a couple of things here that aren’t non-toxic only because I’ve had it from before and I’ve been using it up. Once they’re completely used up, I will be replacing them with a clean alternative which I will be linking below too! And lastly, most links will be affiliate links, and as always, I thank you in advance if you choose to support me by clicking and buying through my links. :)

I will be listing the products in the order I use them:

PRIMER: REN Perfect Canvas Clean Primer

The only primer I have been using for months now! It’s a great hydrating primer that does a great job at prolonging your makeup and helps smooth out your skin by filling in your pores a bit. It helps control shine throughout the day which is something important to me since I now live in a humid environment.

COLOR CORRECTOR: Bobbi Brown Under Eye Corrector (Shade Peach)

This is not a clean color corrector but it’s the one I’ve been using for years now! It’s so good at correcting my dark circles that I didn’t have the heart to give it away since I didn’t have a clean replacement for it yet. The one that I am looking to try next that is non-toxic is the RMS Un Cover-Up Concealer/Foundation. Have you tried this? I’ve heard great things about it so I’m really excited!

SUNSCREEN/FOUNDATION: Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer (Shade No.03)

I don’t really use a dedicated sunscreen yet (I know! it’s so bad!), but when I do know I’ll be out in the sun, I use my Beautycounter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer because it’s a sunscreen and “foundation” in one! It has SPF 20 and even though it has sheer coverage, it does a great job at evening out the skin tone. Plus, it gives such a nice glow to the skin so if you’re a fan of glossy skin, you’ll love this!

For my usual foundation, my favorite is hands down the

Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation (Shade 06)

I wrote a full review on it here, but for a quick description, it’s the most skin-like foundation I’ve ever tried! It’s not oily at all, and even though it’s very light and weightless, it provides beautiful coverage! I apply this with just my fingers!

CONCEALER: First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Bendy Avocado Concealer (Shade Sand)

I love this concealer because it’s so thin but gives amazing coverage! It doesn’t make my under eyes look dry and it looks smooth after I bake/set it with powder. I will say though that it still creases a little bit, but it’s only because I really have a deep crease under my eyes that all concealers crease on me.

POWDER: RCMA No-Color Powder

This isn’t a clean product but OMG this powder is soooo good! Doesn’t give flashback, makes my under eyes look so smooth, and it’s so cheap for how much product you get! The clean alternative I’ve been wanting to try is the Lawless Seal The Deal Loose Setting Powder

BRONZER/CONTOUR: Beautycounter Matte Bronzer

For some weird reason, I cannot find this on the Beautycounter website but I prefer this over their Radiant Bronzer because it’s a little bit more cool-toned, which makes for a perfect bronze/contour shade. You’ll see in my photos that I’ve already hit pan! Something I haven’t done in a loooong time!

BLUSH: Kosas Cream Blush & Highlight Duo (Shade Tropic Equinox)

Possibly one of my most favorite makeup product of 2018/2019! It’s the most beautiful blush color for my skin tone! Gives the healthiest pinch of color to my cheeks. This is a cream blush but it’s super easy to apply, and it has a lovely satin finish.

For a powder blush option, I’ve been really loving PYT Beauty’s Heart Beat Cheek Color in the shade Hustle! Even though it’s a powder formula, it gives the cheeks a beautiful glow, and I love that it’s buildable.

HIGHLIGHT: Kosas Cream Blush & Highlight Duo (Shade Tropic Equinox)

The only highlight I’ve been using since I started my clean beauty lifestyle. Gives the most beautiful glow ever! I like to apply it with a damp Beautyblender. You’ll see in my photos that I’ve hit pan on this as well!

EYESHADOW: Beautycounter Velvet Eyeshadow Palette (Classic)

This is hands down one of my most favorite products from Beautycounter. This eyeshadow palette is a great everyday palette, and can also be used for more intense makeup looks for date nights and events. They’re so easy to blend, has high pigmentation, and compliments brown eyes so well! You can see in my photos how used and well-loved this palette is.

BROWS: Beautycounter Brilliant Brow Gel (Shade Soft Black)

Possibly the best brow gel I’ve ever used! It’s so comparable to Glossier’s Boy Brow, but waaaay easier to remove! Also, it uses only clean ingredients so, yey! Unfortunately my shade is out of stock!!!

Recently, I’ve been skipping the brow gel and have just been using PYT Beauty’s P.O.V. Brow Pencil in the shade Chocolate. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT SO MUCH! It’s so easy to use and it lasts all day even when I don’t set my brows in place! Highly recommend!

MASCARA: ILIA Limitless Lash Mascara

My first impression of this mascara wasn’t the best, but now, I AM OBSESSED WITH IT! It gives the most natural, yet stunning lashes ever! And the best part, it’s clean! It took me about 5 uses to fall in love with this product, but as soon as the formula “dries” up a little, this mascara is perfection! A more in depth review on this mascara soon!

Optional - Eyeliner: W3ll People Eyeliner

Not a fan of this eyeliner if I’m being completely honest. It’s so hard to apply, it’s so wet that it WILL smear across your eyes, and it’s so expensive!!! Maybe if they changed the applicator and packaging, it will be easier to use, but I will not repurchasing! Any clean eyeliner recos?

Optional: Lashes

My favorite lashes to use are the Ardell Demi Wispies, but lately, I’ve been using my Moxie Lash Lashes, minus the magnetic eyeliner.

LIPS: Kosas Weightless Lip Color (Shade Undone)

One of the most comfortable lipstick formulas I’ve ever tried, and it fades nicely throughout the day! It’s not matte, but it does dry down to a satin finish. I do hope they come out with more peachy/orangey tones because pink mauvy tones don’t look so good on me. Haha.
