The Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous is a winter festival held annually on February here in Whitehorse that involves awesome snow sculptures, events for all ages and some local shows. This year we were blessed with a "warm" February! We're talking about 5ΒΊC compared to -15ΒΊC last year. I actually thought that it's gonna be better experiencing Rendezvous this year because of how "warm" it's been this past week but boy, was I wrong. SO wrong. It slipped my mind that we had snow and ice all around Whitehorse so yeah, this city was a melted mess. It was wet, muddy and just ugly!
Jorge and I were actually really looking forward to Rendezvous-ing most especially, seeing the snow sculptures because it would be so appropriate for Instagram's #WHP! (#WHPlocalstory), so we did go today and what we saw were BIG snow carvings that have...
already melted and fallen on the muddy ground. :(
This was Jorge's first Rendezvous experience and it was a bad one. But we didn't want to end our day at that point so we decided to drive around and of course, take pictures to turn the bad experience into a fun one! I on the other hand took more phhhotos and recorded snapchats instead of pictures because using PHHHOTO and Snapchat are more fun!
So without further ado, here are phhhotos from today and at the end of this post is a video of today's Snapchat Story.
