Explore With Corinth: Black Street Stairs

Black Street Stairs

When the rest of the family decide to go grocery shopping, expect Jorge and I to always NOT go with them because, well, I'll be honest, I don't really like going to Superstore unless I really have to. Since my sisters are so used to taking care of that grocery shopping list, Jorge and I decided to just go somewhere today while my sisters were in Superstore. We went to Black Street and we climbed its stairs.

Earlier this year, my sister and I went to this place on a spontaneous photo adventure but I failed to climb all the way to the top because of my fear of heights. I don't know what it is with me and these stairs but they felt really dangerous to me that I just couldn't move my legs easily from one step to another.

Today when Jorge and I climbed it, it scared me again, but somehow, I felt braver because Jorge was right behind me. It was a long scary climb but we reached the top and we were rewarded with bursts of yellows, reds and greens by God's creations. Of course, Jorge and I took so many pictures of each other.

We kept walking and then we were greeted by Downtown Whitehorse and our eyes were just in pure awe. The city is tucked inside walls of mountains like how a little baby is bundled inside a crib. It was simply amazing.

If you are looking for a place to go for your daily run, this is such a nice place to sweat it all out. I don't work out or run but I'm sure if you are one of those, you'll enjoy running on top of Whitehorse. Yukoners are so blessed to have places like this. This is located at the end of Black Street. These trails are located at the top of the stairs; where the airport is at so you will definitely hear the planes land and take off here.
